With joy and thanksgiving, the APNC unanimously recommends Reverend Brian T. Daoust to be Selwyn’s Associate Pastor for Mission and Youth.

Watch this video introduction from Brian and his letter here.

A lifelong Presbyterian, Brian grew up in Concord. He received his BA in History from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2006 and his Masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in 2009. Over the past fifteen years he has served churches in North Carolina and Colorado and has spent the past eight years as Associate Pastor at Johns Creek Presbyterian Church outside Atlanta, where he has also served as a fire department chaplain and an interfaith community leader. Brian is an Eagle Scout and a student of the guitar.

Brian and his wife Jessica have three boys, Vincent, Gabriel, and Marshall. The Daoust family is deeply involved in church life, including music ministry, sound booth, scouting, and mission, and they look forward to joining our church family.

Getting to know Brian meant speaking with a variety of faith leaders who have been impacted by Brian as a teacher and bridge builder. His gifts in biblical teaching, pastoral care, and relationship building will strengthen our church and deepen our ministries in youth and mission.
Comments from APNC members:
I love that Brian is a storyteller with deep Biblical knowledge who can engage our youth and our entire congregation. Brian's experience as an Associate Pastor of Youth and Mission set him apart from all other candidates, and his deep relationships showed. Brian did his homework and strove to understand all that SAPC does currently, calling Mission partners and having conversations with them prior to interviewing. Brian will grow SAPC's youth and mission and will add to our rich leadership.  - Ginny Burgin
Our committee is excited about what Brian and his family will bring to Selwyn. He is deeply experienced in the areas of youth and mission and is prepared to immediately add energy and experience to our ministry staff. He is a relationship builder both with youth and community partners, and his biblical teaching will engage our confirmands and our entire congregation. Our committee engaged with over 55 candidates in a national search, and Brian was our clear and unanimous choice. We are so grateful to be able to extend this call to him.  - Ellen Harris
What a fortuitous connection it was when Selwyn crossed paths with Brian during our search for an Associate Pastor. Brian's dedication to youth and mission work, coupled with his extensive experience, promises to invigorate these vital ministries at Selwyn. In a field of diverse and talented candidates, Brian's candidacy shone brightly, earning him unanimous approval from the search committee for the Associate Pastor role. I'm excited to see Brian bring his energy to our youth and mission programs in the years to come.  - Hunter Miller
The first thing I noticed about Brian was his enthusiasm and eagerness to work with youth and mission. I see him as a perfect fit here at Selwyn and someone who can easily engage with any member of our church.  - Sarah Pineno
I think Brian will be a great asset to our Selwyn family. He impressed me during the interview process with his grasp of the issues associated with both youth and mission. He comes to us with lots of great ideas and experience. He is easy to engage with, and I think he will complement Lori and Margo.  - Sue Ward

We are so grateful for you Brian! We are extending a huge welcome to you and your family!
