Worship at Selwyn Avenue is welcoming and engaging. While our service is grounded in the PCUSA (Presbyterian Church USA) and traditional in style,  we seek to worship God in ways that are full of joy and hope.

Our hymns and music reflect the message of the day,  with a blend of high quality tradition and creative innovation.

We welcome children to participate in our worship. They begin worship in the sanctuary with their parents, then following the children's message, we invite all those interested to attend our Children's Chapel.

Once in the chapel, children engage in their own call to worship, hear the scripture, engage in a children’s sermon, sing songs and prayer. They return to the sanctuary with their families for the end of our community worship service.

MUSIC

Music serves an important role in worship as both an expression of our faith and God’s faithfulness. All music prepared by the choirs, organist, handbell ringers, soloists and other instrumentalists serve the goal of manifesting and responding to the glory of God.

Nursery

On Sunday mornings, the nursery provides quality care for children from infancy to Transitional Kindergarten during Sunday School (9:30-10:30am) and worship (10:30-11:30am). The nursery is also available for many of our special services throughout the year.

Children are divided by age into the following rooms:

  • Crib - birth to 12 months
  • Toddler - 12 months to 24 months
  • Two Year Olds
  • Three Year Olds
  • Four Year Olds and Transitional Kindergarten
