Lori Raible, PastorOffice: (704) 372-6836 ext. 104 Lori Archer Raible has served the congregation of Selwyn Avenue Presbyterian Church since 2008. She is a graduate of Wake Forest University where she was a member of the Cross-country and Track and Field teams. She earned her Masters of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary of Charlotte, in 2006. Lori is passionately involved with the leadership of NEXT Church, serving on the strategy team and previously serving as a Co-Chair for the movement. NEXT Church seeks to connect and equip the leaders of our denomination. Most recently, she has collaborated in the planning of TRENT@Montreat, a national conference designed to support the newly ordained in congregational ministry and a regional symposium to connect and equip elders within the Charlotte Presbytery. Lori is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at Union Presbyterian Seminary. In conjunction with her call to Selwyn, she also enjoys preaching and writing for various organizations and publications. Lori’s favorite pastime is running and her favorite app, is ‘find my i.Phone. Her favorite people are her husband, Rob, and their two children, Joe and Maeve. |

Margo Fraga, Associate PastorOffice: (704) 372-6836 ext. 110 Margo Richardson Fraga grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Named after all the women in her family, “Margo” is a nickname for Ann Louise Margaret Richardson. In 2012, Margo moved to Memphis, Tennessee to attend Rhodes College, where she earned a BA in Anthropology and Sociology. During those years, she discerned a call to ministry and followed the call to Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, where she graduated last May with a Master of Divinity. Following Seminary, Margo moved to Switzerland to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Ecumenical Studies, serving as the 2019-2020 PC(USA) Eugene Carson Blake Scholar for Ecumenical Studies. Margo spent the past five years interning and working in Youth Ministry and Christian Education. She feels excited about the future of Christian formation and is grateful to grow alongside folks of all ages at Selwyn! When she’s not at church, Margo enjoys planning backpacking trips, writing, listening to podcasts, and spending as much time as possible with her family. |

Bryan Hovey, Parish Associate for Pastoral CareOffice: (704) 372-6836 ext. 103 Rev. Bryan Hovey serves as part-time Parish Associate for Pastoral Care and Congregational Life and is active in worship leadership. After his undergraduate studies, Bryan briefly worked in Historic Preservation before moving to France for a year. Upon his return, he began working at Freightliner Corporation in Texas, moved to Oregon, and settled in North Carolina. In 2003, he entered Union Presbytery Seminary in Charlotte, graduated in 2009, and was ordained in 2011. He served as a Hospice Chaplain for three years while also serving as a part-time interim in Monroe and Lowell, NC. Upon leaving Hospice he accepted a full-time call to First Presbyterian Church Mt. Holly as their Transitional Minister. After three years at Mt. Holly, he served a short transitional period at New Hope Presbyterian before moving to Sparta Presbyterian Church to serve as a Transitional Minister. He completed a Transitional position at Quail Hollow PC in May 2022 before coming to Selwyn. A native of North Carolina, Bryan was raised on Lake Hickory and has lived in Concord for 33 years. Bryan and his wife, Carol, have four grown children. Bryan has many hobbies, all of which embrace God’s creation to the fullest. They include reading, hiking in the mountains, sailing, paddling or sitting on the beach playing with his dogs. |

Hilary Cheek, Parish Associate for MissionOffice: (704) 372-6836 ext. 105 Hillary Cheek grew up in Charlotte. She graduated from Elon University with a B.A. in Religious Studies and earned her M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. After graduating from seminary, she answered a call to youth ministry and was ordained as the Associate Pastor of Christian Education at Hopewell Presbyterian Church in Huntersville, NC. While there, Hillary began feeling a call to focus more of her ministry on Pastoral Care. For the next year, she served as the Interim Associate Pastor for Pastoral Care of University Presbyterian Church in Chapel Hill. She most recently served as the Interim Pastor of Faith Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC, finishing her time with them shortly before April 2021. |

Lisa McLennan, Parish AssociateLisa serves as a part-time parish associate at Selwyn. She grew up in High Point, NC and after college she followed her most fun college friends in Chapel Hill back to Charlotte to live and work. She met her husband Braxton and they joined Selwyn and got married here in 1995. She worked as a registered dietitian for 20 years before answering a call to seminary as a second career pastor. She graduated from Union Presbyterian Seminary’s Charlotte campus in 2014 where she also serves as a staff member on the admissions team. Lisa and her husband, Braxton, have 3 grownish children-Mac, Ann Royal and Grey and as a family they enjoy skiing, hiking and watching the Panthers while tailgating in their driveway. She’s new to yoga and meditation, the rumor is that they help with stress! |

Nancy Nutter, Director of Education for Children & FamiliesOffice: (704) 372-6836 Nancy is a Certified Christian Educator in the PCUSA. She is a graduate of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she pursued her BA. Nancy earned her Master’s in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University Charlotte in 2004. Nancy has served several churches in the Charlotte and Providence Presbyteries for the past 20 years. Nancy is involved in APCE(Assoc, of Presbyterian Educators) and a part of the Charlotte Educators Group. Nancy enjoys serving in local missions and sharing her faith journey with her family and friends. She is married to her college sweetheart, Tony. Tony works at Wells Fargo as a Technology Manager. Our children are now grown with a married daughter who blessed us with a grandson in Jan 2020. And our son is getting married this fall. Nancy enjoys teaching and spending time with people of all ages especially God’s littlest ones! |

Fred Spano, Director of MusicOffice: (704) 372-6836 ext. 109 Fred's formal education includes a B.A. in music education (piano concentration) from William Penn University in Iowa, a Master of Music in Music Education from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey; and a Ph.D. in Choral Music Education from Florida State University (2002). He has taught K-12 general/choral music in the US s well as in international schools in Iraq and Ecuador, and has been teaching in higher education since 2002. Fred has served several churches during his career including Director of Music at First United Methodist Church of Martin in Tennessee, and Pisgah United Methodist Church in Tallahassee, staff choral teacher at Nassau Presbyterian Church in Princeton, and Children's Choir Director at Flemington Presbyterian Church in Flemington, New Jersey. Fred is the Associate Chair for the Department of Music at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, as well as Associate Professor of Music Education. Fred is also an active researcher, and teaches courses in choral and general music methods, supervises student teachers, and is active in the choral community adjudicating and conducting honor choirs in and around Charlotte. |

Gay Pappin, OrganistSelwyn's organist since the autumn of 2017 is Gay Pappin. She grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Ouchita Baptist University with a degree in music education, and later received a master's degree and doctorate in music from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Gay has played organ and piano in churches all of her youth and adult life, most recently in Charlotte at Quail Hollow Presbyterian Church and previously at the Christian Science congregation on Morehead. She is employed as administrator at the Southern Park Music School on Park Road, where she previously taught piano and organ. Active in the Charlotte chapter of the American Guild of Organists, Gay has held leadership positions including Dean and member of the Stigall Scholarship committee and registrar for the 2015 Regional Conference. Her husband is Joe Pappin, a retired professor of philosophy and formerly dean of the Lancaster campus of the University of South Carolina. They have two adult children and are also grandparents. |
