Sunday Evening provides an opportunity for youth grades 6-12 to come together for fellowship, Bible study, worship, service, learning, and outreach.
Mission Projects. Once a month the youth participate in a community mission project. These missions include: raising money for and participating in the CROP Walk, hosting Room In The Inn, volunteering with Love, In The Name of Christ and Crisis Ministries and making welcome baskets for Florence Crittenton Services. Fellowship Opportunities. Once a month the youth have a chance to kick-back, relax and spend quality time getting to know each other in a fun environment. Fellowship activities have included going rafting at the US Whitewater Center, going to the movies and game nights. Congregational Care. The youth regularly participate in ministries that serve and offer care to members of the congregation. The youth host a Halloween Party and an Easter Egg Hunt for families with young children, and occasionally provide childcare during Parents’ Night Out events. The youth send care packages to college students and young adults living outside of Charlotte; and they minister to homebound members of the congregation, making and delivering goody bags and participating in Christmas caroling. Small Groups. "Girls’ Nights” and “Guys Nights” provide an opportunity for the youth to get to know one another in a small group setting and provide a chance to invite new people to join in youth activities. Special Programs. The youth regularly participate in programs that are of interest to them or are relevant for their life beyond church. Recent topics have included teen violence, substance abuse, relationships, and stereotyping. |
