Want to see the world? If so, get involved in the Trips & Enterprises committee.
This committee is not just about taking trips. It is also about:
- Mexico Shared Ministry
- Relief Efforts in Sudan
- Community Development in Cameroon
Each year we hold a Silent Auction and Dinner in Fellowship Hall to raise funds for our mission trips. Church members are urged to donate new or gently used items for the auction and to participate in the covered dish dinner. Bid and eat!
Upcoming Mission Work Trips
July 24-August 8 - Cameroon, West Africa - A Place of Hopes and Samaritan's Feet invite us to participate in the distribution of shoes and backpacks with school supplies. The cost is $3,100 and includes transportation, accommodations and meals. Contact Samaritan's Feet at (704) 341-1630 or info@samaritansfeet.org.
November 1-8 - Selwyn's 5th mission trip to Diamondhead, MS, helping to rebuild the community post-Katrina. We will be assisting with a full-house build.
Other Trips, in Conjunction with the Presbytery of Charlotte:
August 2-9, Costa Rica - partnering with the Presbyterian Church of Costa Rica, assisting with light construction and maintenance work.
September 6-14, Matzatenango, Guatemala - construction work, partnering with the Presbyterian Church of Guatemala and Habitat for Humanity.
September 22-27, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City, Iowa - Presbytery of Charlotte is organizing the opportunity to serve these communities devastated by recent floods. The cost is $350-$400 and includes the flight, ground transportation, lodging, breakfast and lunch.
