Sunday School    Adult Education Vacation Bible School

Adult Education

The adult education program at Selwyn Avenue is diverse and rich in topic.  There is a place for all members of our congregation to deepen and challenge what they know about God, Christ, and our Faith.

Our educational journey of faith as a Church and as individuals is rooted in Scripture and the Reformed Tenants of our faith. “Some of the principles articulated by John Calvin remain at the core of Presbyterian beliefs. Among these are the sovereignty of God, the authority of the scripture, justification by grace through faith and the priesthood of all believers." (PCUSA website)

New members and visitors are always welcome to join any of our classes. Please check out the different classes offered on the Sunday School page.

In addition to Sunday school offerings, Selwyn Avenue offers weekly Bible studies and small groups for faith enrichment:

  • Wednesday Bible Study with Pastor Rush Otey at 11am in the Parlor offered Sept.-Dec. and Jan. - March.

  • Young Women’s, ‘Daughters of Faith’ Bible Study on Thursday mornings from 10-11am.  Childcare is provided. This Bible study is open to any young woman in our church or in Charlotte.

  • Young Men of Selwyn meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays.

There are periodical studies throughout the year including: Bible 101, short series on different books of the Bible, Advent and Lenten studies, and the in-depth Bible Study, Disciple.
